2018 Red River Revel: nine days of food, fun, music, and art

The Red River Revel returns this weekend!

From world class art to delicious food, the Red River Revel Arts Festival offers numerous experiences to enjoy along with a wide variety of music.

The Revel features over 100 artists who specialize in oils, acrylics, sculpture, jewelry, woodwork, glass, metal and much more! Get your very own unique pieces of art and talk to the artists about their craft. Some artists will switch out mid-week, so be sure to visit the Revel regularly so you don’t miss anyone!

The Red River Revel has a long history of bringing super talented performances to Shreveport. Over the years, our lineups have included concerts from Keith Urban, The Band Perry, Colt Ford, Newsboys, Judah and the Lion, The Record Company, and a huge list of other rising superstars who rocked the Festival Plaza to its foundation. Thousands of people come every year to see these performances by artists who often go on to become chart-toppers and living legends in music! You definitely don’t want to miss your opportunity to experience the headliners we have lined up. Witness the explosive power of new stars on the rise!

Joel Rodgers

Joel Rodgers joined RSHV News 1 in January 2018 as a reporter/journalist. Prior to joining our team, Joel spent the previous 5 years as a morning show reporter, entertainment reporter, and sports reporter for a local television station. At 6’5”, he's the tallest reporter in the history of Shreveport, but it’s more than just his height that makes this Shreveport native stand out. His editing skills combined with his love for storytelling makes for a creative and talented addition to the RSHV News 1 team. After attending and graduating from Evangel Christian Academy, he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from Northwestern State University. Joel is very active in the Shreveport community having won several competitions in recent years. In 2017, he danced his way to victory in the annual Susan G. Komen event, “Dancing for the Cure." He’s also won the “Mudbug Madness” Crawfish eating contest in back-to-back years and was named the top celebrity chef at the “Louisiana Food Prize” cooking competition.
