The 2019 jackets open the season in New Orleans against Brother Martin. Then return to Shreveport for a date against the rebels of West Monroe, in the ninth annual Battle on the Border. Byrd is the only team to appear in every Battle on the Border. You can see that game Friday September 13 at Independence Stadium. 5:30 kickoff.

Coach Suggs says he’s excited about this year’s team because they have a lot of players who saw a lot of playing time last year. Byrd is also good because they’re always coached very VERY well.
