2019 High School Football Playoff Brackets

The Brackets are OUT; and these local teams are IN

The LHSAA released the 2019 playoff brackets on Sunday.


The 5A Playoff Bracket will see three local home games for three local teams and one away game for another local team.

8 Airline vs 25 Southside

11 Haughton vs 22 Ouachita Parish

15 Captain Shreve vs 18 John Ehret

32 Benton at 1 Acadiana


The 4A Playoff Bracket will have local schools playing two home games and two away games.

12 Northwood vs 21 Rayne

15 Minden vs 18 DeRidder

29 North DeSoto at 4 Tiogo

22 Huntington at 11 Belle Chasse


The 3A Playoff Bracket features three away games and one home game.

32 Mansfield at 1 St. James

17 Green Oaks at 16 Jena

18 Bossier at 15 Kaplan

13 Booker t. Washington vs 20 Lutcher


The 2A Playoff Bracket will have two home games

9 Red River vs 24 Oakdale

3 North Caddo vs 30 Lakeside


The 1A Playoff Bracket will have local teams Logansport and Haynesville on bye, and other playing at home.

12 Homer vs 21 Slaughter Community Charter

14 Plain Dealing vs 19 Delta Charter


The Division I Playoff Bracket features one local team, and they will play away, the winner will then play top seed Rummel.

9 C.E. Byrd at 8 St. Augustine


The Division II Playoff Bracket will have one team playing at home and another playing away.

4 Loyola vs 13 Thomas Jefferson

9 Evangel at 8 E.D. White


The Division III Playoff Bracket has zero local teams but it does have Arch Manning’s Newman team. Ok next.


The Division IV will have one local team playing at home

4 Calvary vs 13 St. Frederick

Joel Rodgers

Joel Rodgers joined RSHV News 1 in January 2018 as a reporter/journalist. Prior to joining our team, Joel spent the previous 5 years as a morning show reporter, entertainment reporter, and sports reporter for a local television station. At 6’5”, he's the tallest reporter in the history of Shreveport, but it’s more than just his height that makes this Shreveport native stand out. His editing skills combined with his love for storytelling makes for a creative and talented addition to the RSHV News 1 team. After attending and graduating from Evangel Christian Academy, he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from Northwestern State University. Joel is very active in the Shreveport community having won several competitions in recent years. In 2017, he danced his way to victory in the annual Susan G. Komen event, “Dancing for the Cure." He’s also won the “Mudbug Madness” Crawfish eating contest in back-to-back years and was named the top celebrity chef at the “Louisiana Food Prize” cooking competition.
