Andrea “KGB” Lee talks about fighting in UFC on ESPN 1
Andrea 'KGB' Lee - UFC on ESPN 1 - Sunday Feb. 17 - 6PM
- Joel Rodgers
This weekend, history will be made for the UFC as it begins 2019 with a partnership with ESPN. The UFC on ESPN 1 event is set to take place this Sunday inside the Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, Arizona.
“Any time we’re on ESPN, we’re looking to deliver the biggest and the best up-and-coming fighters,” Dana White – President of the UFC.
Enter Andrea KGB Lee; born in Texarkana (Tx), raised in Atlanta (Tx), and current resident of Bossier City, La. (she’s also lived and trained in Shreveport for a number of years) Lee will fight in her second UFC bout, and it’s FREE to watch. The hard-hitting striker will face-off against Ashlee Evans-Smith, in a flyweight bout at the UFC’s first televised ESPN show.
Last May, Andrea KGB Lee won her UFC debut with an unanimous decision over Veronica Macedo, her fifth consecutive victory. Lee has a professional record of (9-2) and (1-0) in the UFC.
Her second fight in the UFC was supposed to be against Jessica-Rose Clark at UFC on FOX 31 on Dec. 15, but Clark was removed from the bout after being hospitalized due to issues with her weight cut.
Andrea is currently ranked just outside the top 10, but those things do change, and it could on Sunday night. Andrea was at Dement Brothers Old School Boxing Club getting some work in earlier this week (Tuesday), she left on Wednesday, and her fight is Sunday. She seemed like she always does; confident, polite, focused, and full of life. She has a lot in her her corner, and a great team around her. She’s coached by Tim Credeur of Gladiators Academy of Lafayette, KGB is working with Jim West, the coach (Aspen Ladd), and wrestling coach Eric “Sandman” Sands.
The UFC on ESPN 1 is Sunday night, and KGB Lee is on the card! This is so great. Great job by the guys at the UFC. She is ready to be a star.
Her social media accounts are followed worldwide; 64K followers on her Instagram page, 31K followers on Facebook, and 25K followers on Twitter. But after Sunday, those numbers are going to grow, and since other people are always calling their shots, so will I:
Andrea KGB Lee will win, and Vegas likes her too. (see UFC on ESPN 1 odds below)
.
Good luck, KGB!
