Band Wars moves to Festival Plaza

  • Joel Rodgers

On March 10th/11th Shreveport’s Festival Plaza will be the battleground for The Band Wars; a battle of the bands event that features 15 bands, 1000’s of fans, and $20,000!

Bands Wars was scheduled to be at East Bank Theatre in Bossier, but due to field conditions, the event has been moved to Festival Plaza.

Band Wars is the brain-child of Brandon Beard, a local musician who wants to help local bands get exposure.

“We had over 2,000 bands that registered, we received over 800,000 votes, and now we’re only a couple of weeks away from giving one of these bands $20,000 cash, a 3song EP, and an official Music Video”, says Beard.

Here’s how it works; On Saturday March 10th the gates will open at 10 and the first band will take the stage at noon. All 15 bands will rock the plaza until 7 PM, then at 7:30 the top Tom Petty tribute band, The Damn Torpedoes will take the stage. After that, the top 5 bands will be announced and those bands will come back Sunday to compete for the 20K.

The 15 bands were chosen by most votes received at https://www.thebandwars.com.

The Band Wars is an open-air, outdoors, family-friendly event with a Kid’s Area, Food Trucks, and Craft Vendors plus Band Merchandise from the TOP 15 Bands.
