Basic Cable turning up Shreveport’s music scene
- Joel Rodgers
What started as a hurried attempt to put a show together a week in advance has evolved into one of Shreveport-Bossier’s premier acts. Combining the love of performance with the camaraderie of bringing friends together, Basic Cable have fast-tracked themselves onto the map and put the wonderful citizens of northwest Louisiana on notice.
They thrive on the support of family, friends, and fans and strive to consistently create the best product possible while still placing an emphasis on fun. Their shows are guaranteed to blow you away and keep you coming back for more.
The band consists of four members:
Tim Powell
Michael Chreene
Micheal Brown
John Garcia
All of which are in other local bands around the area.
Tim Powell also plays multiple instruments in Shayliff, The Interns, and does solo work.
Michael Chreene plays bass for Hwy Lions.
Micheal Brown plays lead guitar for Shayliff.
John Garcia plays guitar, banjo, and sings vocals for Magnolia Mae.
Basic Cable played Strange Brew this past Saturday and brought the house down with all your favorites from the 80s/90s/00s.
Basic Cable was originally the name of Tim Powell’s band in high school before becoming the name of this band. But the current configuration of Basic Cable has been together since June of this year. And they’ll be together for awhile. Check out their Facebook page and be sure to follow this up in coming band.
