A Bossier City woman is in the Caddo Correctional Center after being arrested and charged with fraud, according to Sheriff Steve Prator.
The woman, identified as Maria Esther Perez, was operating a landscape business known as No Ends Landscaping and Handyman. On October 26, The victim had contracted with Perez to do some work outside of his residence. The total dollar amount of the contract was $10, 322.00.
Perez was paid $7,751.00 to begin work. According to the victim, Perez and her crew did begin work, but after a few days, they never returned to complete the job.
During his investigation, Caddo Sheriff’s Det. Mike King confirmed that neither Perez nor her company is licensed to perform contract work.
An arrest warrant was issued on November 5 for Perez for the crime of home improvement fraud. Bond was set at $10,000.
Perez was arrested in Florida on December 23 and extradited to Caddo Parish on January 5. She was booked into jail on the arrest warrant and also as in-state fugitive from Claiborne Parish Sheriff’s Office, which is currently investigating Perez on similar charges.
