Per a news release from Caddo Parish Schools on June 12th, 2019:
Dr. Lamar Goree, Superintendent of Caddo Schools, has announced the appointment of Nicolas Cunningham as the interim principal of North Caddo Elementary/Middle School.
Cunningham is no stranger to the students and families of northern Caddo Parish. For the past decade, he has served as a teacher, coach and athletic director at Herndon Magnet and most recently as assistant principal of administration at North Caddo Elementary/Middle School. Cunningham began his education career in Caddo Schools in 2005 after receiving his bachelor’s degree from Grambling State University and his master’s degree from Illinois State University.
“Since I arrived at North Caddo Elementary/Middle, I have been overwhelmed by the generosity and spirit of the community and their support,” Cunningham said. “I am both grateful and humbled at the opportunity to serve an incredible group of students, teachers, staff and community members as we work together for the success of students.”
The district will work with the community to determine its unique needs as part of a new principal search.
The shift in leadership comes as Judy Langley, who has served as principal of North Caddo Elementary/Middle since 2016, chose to step down from the position citing health concerns.
