Geron Hargon social media Saturday and committed to play college football at the University of Rice. Hargon is a 3-star linebacker at Captain Shreve high school. He’s about to enter his senior season, and this guy is one of those 1 in a million type of guys.

“First, I would like to thank God for blessing me with the ability to be in this position to play college football. I have learned throughout this process that His plan is greater than anything I could have imagined for myself. I gained my love for football starting at a young age from my dad. He believed in me when I didn’t even believe in myself, and I am forever thankful for that. Thank you Dad for pushing me since I started playing football to be the best that I could possibly be and for the countless hours working with me in the backyard. Thank you to my Mom for being so supportive of my dream of playing Division I college football and not only driving me all across the country trying to find the best fit for me, but being at every one of my games. It was never something that we planned on, but you have the hard job of playing both parents and you do it so well! Thank you to both of my brothers and my girlfriend for making the long car rides and sitting through numerous camps supporting me. Thank you to my coaches for being role models in my life and picking me up when adversity struck and shook up my world. When looking at a school I wanted to find a place where I could not only Play Division I college football but also get a world class education. With this being said, I would like to announce that I plan on accepting a full scholarship to Rice University to play football for the next four years! #forchad

Rice is getting an extremely bright football player in Hargon. The industry-generated 247Sports Composite rates Hargon as a three-star prospect who is ranked No. 71 nationally among 2020 inside linebackers, as well as No. 71 overall in the state of Louisiana for his class. 247Sports ranks Hargon at No. 68 overall in Louisiana’s 2020 cycle.

Hargon and his Captain Shreve Gators will play in the Battle on the Border at Independence Stadium this September.
