Something funny IS always happening in Shreveport, but this article is about politics, it’s about comedy.

Hey-O!!!

Several local venues and several funny people are to blame for Shreveport’s rising comedy scene. Over the past year we’ve seen open mic nights all around the city…. and they’re great!

Bear’s hosts an open mic night, Bear Ass Comedy w/Molly Hiers once a month. The Port Grill, Sam’s Town Casino, Parish Taceaux, and The Bar Chord also host comedy events.

This past Monday Bear’s was the site for comedy and Molly Hiers delivered some funny news. Comedy Central’s Olivia Grace will be making a stop in Shreveport – all the way from New York – for a night of laughs at The Bar Chord April 29th. Joining her will be Eric J Freedman (Bear Grenade Comedy Show at the World Famous Comedy Store, 2019 Hollywood Laugh Factory Fresh Faces Showcase) as well as Shreveport locals, Molly Heirs and David Allen.

Hiers was contacted by Grace via social media and booked her for the April 29th show at Shreveport’s The Bar Chord.

Olivia made a name for herself as a roaster in the Belly Room of the World Famous Comedy Store in Los Angeles when she was too young to legally enter the 21+ venue. Olivia quickly became a staple of the growing Roast Battle phenomena. She was featured in a documentary short about the show directed by Jason Rietman that premiered at Sundance in 2016. Olivia has performed on all three seasons of Jeff Ross Presents: Roast Battleon Comedy Central. Most recently, Olivia was a writer for the 2018 Roast of Bruce Willis. Olivia has participated in the Just For Laughs Festival and New York Comedy Festival.

The show is 21+ and there is a $10 cover.
