  • Joel Rodgers

Only three weeks remain, boys… and girls.

District 1-5A is shaping up and we’ll know a lot more after Thursday night. They call it Week 8, it kicks off Thursday with Evangel vs. C.E. Byrd. A Yellow Jacket win would create a 3-way-tie; of 1-loss schools, in the district. Here are some key games….

In Week 1, Evangel lost to Bishop Dunne (Dallas, Tx) 23-14.

In Week 2, Byrd beat the them (Bishop Dunne) 17-14 (Battle on the Border).

In Week 4, Byrd lost to Haughton 42-21 (Byrd’s only district loss)

In Week 5, Evangel def Haughton 49-19 (halftime score 21-19) (Haughton’s only district loss)

In Week 8, Evangel plays Byrd. It’s Thursday at Lee Hedges. Week 8 could get very VERY interesting if Byrd wins. It would create a 3-way-tie of 1-loss schools in the district;
