Former Orleans Parish deputy faces theft, other charges

  • AP

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — The Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested a former deputy on charges of theft and malfeasance in office.

The sheriff’s office, in a news release, says an arrest warrant accused Edward Moore of obtaining fuel from the Broad Street City Gas Pumps to fill the tank of a personal vehicle.

Moore is alleged to have put gas in his personal vehicle several times over a three-month period, including one instance where he was photographed by witnesses.

Moore was suspended on July 21 following an administrative review. He resigned Aug. 1 while under investigation.

Bond information and whether Moore is represented by an attorney was not immediately known Thursday.
