Calvary 4-star corner Eric Reed Jr. has it covered, he normally does, Reed is the top-rated player in northwest Louisiana, and quarterback know not to throw his way.

Several big name colleges are lined up to throw scholarships his way, he’ll make decision this Wednesday.

Reed is one of the top high school football recruits in Louisiana, he rates as the nation’s No. 12 safety, but played extensively at cornerback for Calvary Baptist. The 247Sports Composite ranks Reed as the nation’s No. 16 safety and No. 175 overall prospect.

He recently de-comitted from Ole Miss after Ole Miss let go of coach Matt Luke. Luke has recently accepted a coaching job at Georgia as their offensive line coach.

According to Dawg Nation.com, Reed was at Georgia this weekend with his mother and father on his official. It was his first trip back since he took an unofficial for the Notre Dame game.

Reed lists his top school as Georgia, Auburn, LSU, and Notre Dame.

He’ll make his decision December 18th after having only taken officials to Auburn and Georgia.

Joel Rodgers

Joel Rodgers joined RSHV News 1 in January 2018 as a reporter/journalist. Prior to joining our team, Joel spent the previous 5 years as a morning show reporter, entertainment reporter, and sports reporter for a local television station. At 6’5”, he's the tallest reporter in the history of Shreveport, but it’s more than just his height that makes this Shreveport native stand out. His editing skills combined with his love for storytelling makes for a creative and talented addition to the RSHV News 1 team. After attending and graduating from Evangel Christian Academy, he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from Northwestern State University. Joel is very active in the Shreveport community having won several competitions in recent years. In 2017, he danced his way to victory in the annual Susan G. Komen event, “Dancing for the Cure." He’s also won the “Mudbug Madness” Crawfish eating contest in back-to-back years and was named the top celebrity chef at the “Louisiana Food Prize” cooking competition.
