Holy smokes! The rosters for The Louisiana High School Coaches Association’s East-West All-Star Game have been released, and ‘Team West’ is loaded.

The game is Saturday, Dec. 15 at 2 p.m. at Ruston High School. The East-West All-Star Game, also known as the “I-20 Bowl” is sponsored by Walk-On’s Bistreaux & Bar.

The game showcases the talents of local standout high school football players from both sides of north Louisiana. Each team is stacked with around 40 seniors from 1A-5A.

Team West team is led by Haughton High School’s Jason Brotherton.

On offense ‘Team West’ is huge up front and loaded in the backfield. The offensive line will feature studs like Christian Perry (Evangel), Cameron Davis (Captain Shreve), Cameron Myles (Loyola), Eric Harper (Captain Shreve), and Alvin Ford (Evangel).

Tamauge Sloan (Evangel), Aubrey Scott (North Desoto), and Lorenzo Johnson (North Webster) are the RB’s.

Jacob Allen (Loyola) and Landon Moon (Logansport) are the QB’s

At WR…. Trayon Jones (Northwood), Horatio Ruffins (Evangel), John Williams (Loyola) and Davion Sanders (Green Oaks).

Defense is sick too. Team West LB’s Tyler Lummus (Northwood), David Brown IV (Captain Shreve), and Devin Gabriel (Logansport)

Defensive line will feature Matthew White (Haughton), Anthony Echols (Benton), Tremaine Caldwell (Huntington), Thomas Brown (Woodlawn), and Joseph Evans (Haynesville)

The DB’s are Avaunte Stward (Byrd), Madrid Johnson (Logansport), Ted Nelams (Parkway), and Jacareon Latham (Minden)

Scotty Roblow (Byrd) will be both punter and kicker.

Joel Rodgers

Joel Rodgers joined RSHV News 1 in January 2018 as a reporter/journalist. Prior to joining our team, Joel spent the previous 5 years as a morning show reporter, entertainment reporter, and sports reporter for a local television station. At 6’5”, he's the tallest reporter in the history of Shreveport, but it’s more than just his height that makes this Shreveport native stand out. His editing skills combined with his love for storytelling makes for a creative and talented addition to the RSHV News 1 team. After attending and graduating from Evangel Christian Academy, he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from Northwestern State University. Joel is very active in the Shreveport community having won several competitions in recent years. In 2017, he danced his way to victory in the annual Susan G. Komen event, “Dancing for the Cure." He’s also won the “Mudbug Madness” Crawfish eating contest in back-to-back years and was named the top celebrity chef at the “Louisiana Food Prize” cooking competition.
