High school football playoff brackets to be released Sunday

High school football playoffs are here! Well… almost.
The 2018 high school playoff brackets will be released by the LHSAA on Sunday. Non-Select divisions will have 32 teams qualify for the playoffs, with the top 16 hosting in the first round.
In 5A, Haughton looks to have a playoff home game, and they will, if they win against Airline in week 10. Same could be said for Captain Shreve – beat Evangel, and you should have a home playoff game, in the swamp.
In 4A, the Northwood Falcons locked up District 1-4A with a Week 10 win against Bossier. The falcons are 10-0 for the first time in school history, and will host a home playoff game next week. But against who??? We’ll find out Sunday.
North DeSoto will look to host a playoff game, if they win against Minden Friday night.
Benton will also represent the area in 4A, but will likely play on the road..
3A, Loyola and Green Oaks look to see who they’ll be matched against.
2A, Many and Mansfield both in. Many will host. Mansfield, not sure yet.
1A, Haynesville and Logansport. Two great teams, both unbeaten, probably gonna see each other down the line. Both hosting home playoff game.
The Select divisions feature a different number of teams in their brackets.
Division I, all teams make the playoffs, with the top four earning byes. Evangel would earn a bye with a win against Captain Shreve on Friday. Byrd should host a home game next week at Lee Hedges. We’ll find out their opponent Sunday.
Division II, where all teams make the playoffs, with the top three earning a bye.
Division III, where all teams make the playoffs, with the top two teams earning byes. Calvary should also be home to kickoff the playoffs.
Division IV, where all 16 teams make the playoffs. We don’t have any local teams in Division IV.
