BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — First-time claims for unemployment insurance in Louisiana for the week ending Nov. 26 decreased from the previous week’s total.
The state labor department figures released Monday show the initial claims fell to 2,029 from the previous week’s total of 3,068 For the comparable week a year earlier, there were 2,554.
The four-week moving average, which is a less volatile measure of claims, decreased to 2,547 from the previous week’s average of 2,664.
Continued unemployment claims claimed for the week ending Nov.12 decreased to 22,984 compared to 23,066 the previous week.
The four-week moving average for such claims decreased to 23,171 from the previous week’s average of 23,371.
