Jackpot! Captain Shreve’s #7 scores 7 touchdowns in 7 days

Captain Shreve 58 - Benton 14

  • Joel Rodgers

The legend of DJ Fleming continues to grow. “He’s pretty dang good”, says Captain Shreve head coach Bryant Sepulvado.

On Thursday night, the senior running back scored 3 touchdowns. His total for the season is now 11. Just last Friday he scored 4 touchdowns against Parkway. Meaning, in the last 7 days DJ has scored 7 touchdowns.

“Man, I’m a legend, dude. I’m a legend”, says Fleming. And he’s right, although Shreve has played 6 games in 2019, Fleming has only played in a handful of those games. He has 11 touchdowns and could become the Captain Shreve all-time leading rusher and all-time leader in touchdowns.

Coach Sepulvado is right, DJ Fleming is pretty dang good.

Shreve beat Benton 58-14 and will face Natchitoches Central next Thursday, Haughton on the 25th, and Byrd on Halloween.

Look for the legend of DJ Fleming to continue to grow, as does the number of wins for the gators. Shreve is now 5-1, and 3-0 in district.

Benton falls to 3-3 on the year and 0-3 in their first year in 5A.
