Learning Express Toys of Shreveport Partners with Toys for Tots

Learning Express Toys is helping Toys for Tots bring holiday gifts to children in need.

Area residents can donate new, unwrapped toys in the drop-off box at Learning Express Toys of Shreveport.

In addition, Learning Express Toys of Shreveport will match the value of monetary donations made at check-out in toys for Toys for Tots. Customers can round up their purchase to the next dollar or donate $1, $5 or $10, and the store will donate double that amount in toys to the organization.

Store owner Sarah Toups believes in the importance of giving back to the community and families in the local area.

“This holiday season, many families in our community would not have any gifts if not for Toys for Tots. Our business is about helping children make memories, and I am grateful to be able to help families in need to provide a happy holiday for their children in a difficult time,” Toups said.

The store will be collecting donations through Saturday, Dec. 8, when representatives from the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve will perform a Finale Collection at the store.

About Toys for Tots

Toys for Tots, a 71-year national charitable program run by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, provides happiness and hope to disadvantaged children during each Christmas holiday season. The toys, books and other gifts collected and distributed by the Marines offer these children recognition, confidence and a positive memory for a lifetime. It is such experiences that help children become responsible citizens and caring members of their community. Last year the Marine Toys for Tots Program fulfilled the holiday hopes and dreams of 7 million less fortunate children in 800 communities nationwide. Since 1947 over 251 million children have been assisted. The Marine Toys for Tots Foundation is a not for profit organization authorized by the U.S. Marine Corps and the Department of Defense to provide fundraising and other necessary support for the annual Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program.
