Let’s Football! The 2018 jamborees kickoff Friday night

The 2018 high school football season is almost here and several jamboree games will takes place around the area Friday night and Saturday.

Caddo Jamboree games will takes place all over the city of Shreveport.
Byrd vs. Captain Shreve, 5-6-7 p.m.
Where: Lee Hedges
Note: freshman, JV, varsity
Admission: $7

Northwood Jamboree, 6 p.m.
Where: Jerry Burton Stadium
Northwood vs. Green Oaks
Green Oaks vs. Huntington
Northwood vs. Huntington
Admission: $7
Note: Each game is two 12-minute halves, 10-minute halftime

Southwood vs. Woodlawn, 6 p.m.
Where: Independence Stadium
Note: JV then varsity

Bossier Lions Club Jamboree will kickoff at 5:45 p.m. at Airline Stadium
Airline vs. Benton
Bossier vs. Plain Dealing
Haughton vs. Parkway

In DeSoto Parish, the Jamboree kickoff is 7 p.m. at Logansport’s Tiger Stadium
North DeSoto vs. Logansport
North DeSoto vs. Mansfield
Logansport vs. Mansfield
Admission: $8 adults; $5 students

On Saturday, several teams head east for the Eddie Robinson Classic
Where: Eddie Robinson Stadium, Grambling
Lincoln Prep vs. Arcadia, 2 p.m.
Calvary vs. Rayville, 4 p.m.
Northwest vs. Ferriday, 6 p.m.
Evangel vs. Union Parish, 8 p.m.

Joel Rodgers

Joel Rodgers joined RSHV News 1 in January 2018 as a reporter/journalist. Prior to joining our team, Joel spent the previous 5 years as a morning show reporter, entertainment reporter, and sports reporter for a local television station. At 6’5”, he's the tallest reporter in the history of Shreveport, but it’s more than just his height that makes this Shreveport native stand out. His editing skills combined with his love for storytelling makes for a creative and talented addition to the RSHV News 1 team. After attending and graduating from Evangel Christian Academy, he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from Northwestern State University. Joel is very active in the Shreveport community having won several competitions in recent years. In 2017, he danced his way to victory in the annual Susan G. Komen event, “Dancing for the Cure." He’s also won the “Mudbug Madness” Crawfish eating contest in back-to-back years and was named the top celebrity chef at the “Louisiana Food Prize” cooking competition.
