Live music, margaritas, and fun for the the whole family.
Saturday starting at noon at festival plaza Red River Margarita Pour Off will feature two bands Southern Roots The Caravan Band, Lucha Libre wrestling, Taco Competition and of course a Margarita Competition.
At 10am the first ever Red River Log Jam corn hole tournament starts right behind The Bass Pro shops
Also at noon at riverview park, nascar on water. The Power Boat Nationals. These boats hit speeds over 125mph. Pretty amazing to watch.
At 630pm Anxious takes the riverview stage in Shreveport followed by Cody Cooke and the Bayou Outlaws
On the Bossier side, located at LOUISIANA BOARDWALK behind Joe’s Crab shack Shayliff brings the show at 630 followed by Johnny Earthquake and the Moondogs
On Sunday racing resumes noon-6 then we shift our focus to the Shreveport Riverview stage where Southern Roots will put on a show at 630. As you gaze upon the stage a giant screen will be showing The LSU vs Miami game!!! At 830 watch one of the greatest shows around as The Chee-Weez jam to a packed crowd. At 850 the night sky will be lite up by Pyromania Fireworks, LLC in a fireworks display to honor our lost friend Angela Dye Elkins.
Wow what an incredible weekend! All of the power boat activities and concerts are complete free for you and your families.

Joel Rodgers

Joel Rodgers joined RSHV News 1 in January 2018 as a reporter/journalist. Prior to joining our team, Joel spent the previous 5 years as a morning show reporter, entertainment reporter, and sports reporter for a local television station. At 6’5”, he's the tallest reporter in the history of Shreveport, but it’s more than just his height that makes this Shreveport native stand out. His editing skills combined with his love for storytelling makes for a creative and talented addition to the RSHV News 1 team. After attending and graduating from Evangel Christian Academy, he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from Northwestern State University. Joel is very active in the Shreveport community having won several competitions in recent years. In 2017, he danced his way to victory in the annual Susan G. Komen event, “Dancing for the Cure." He’s also won the “Mudbug Madness” Crawfish eating contest in back-to-back years and was named the top celebrity chef at the “Louisiana Food Prize” cooking competition.
