Local concessions options at the 2018 Independence Bowl

The Walk-On’s Independence Bowl is proud to announce a variety of new concessions options for the 2018 game, featuring many of Shreveport-Bossier City’s prominent local restaurants.

Football and food are inseparable in the state of Louisiana, and the Walk-On’s Independence Bowl is bringing local fare and businesses to Independence Stadium on game day. Fans at the 2018 Walk-On’s Independence Bowl will be able to sample a variety of the best food the Shreveport-Bossier City has to offer.

“We are super excited to be partnered with the Walk-on’s Independence Bowl. We love the opportunity to pair all the things we love, Cajun food, cold beer and football,” explained BeauxJax Crafthouse owner Beaux Hays. “The bowl has gone out of their way to support our local business over the last several years, and we believe their focus on showcasing our region has enhanced the bowl game experience in recent years.”

The concessions vendors at this year’s game are the State Fair of Louisiana, BeauxJax Crafthouse, Counter Culture, Johnny’s Pizza House, Marilynn’s Place and Real BBQ.

“Johnny’s Pizza House is proud to be a sponsor and partner with the Independence Bowl once again,” said Johnny’s Pizza House General Manager Roy Peacock.

With a goal on bringing a local Louisiana tradition and enhancing fan experience of the Walk-On’s Independence Bowl, the bowl is currently in talks with other vendors to provide concessions at this years game.

The 2018 Walk-On’s Independence Bowl will kickoff at 12:30 PM on Thursday, December 27 – featuring a match-up of the Temple Owls (8-4) and Duke Blue Devils (7-5). The two teams’ combined for 15 regular season wins, the highest-combined total of Independence Bowl opponents since 2012. Both teams are making their first Independence Bowl appearance, and the 2018 Walk-On’s Independence Bowl will be their first ever meeting in football.

Again this year, fans with a ticket to the Walk-On’s Independence Bowl who are in attendance have an opportunity to win a new Ford F-150 through the Ticket to Drive promotion, courtesy of Gateway Tire & Service Centers and Yokohama Tires.
