The Evangel Eagles will soar into the 2019 season with new offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach.

After assistant coaching stops at Mississippi State, University of Houston and Arizona State, Connor Champion is headed to Evangel Christian Academy. Champion was working at Arizona State, where he was actually recruiting Evangel’s QB Blake Shapen when offered the offensive coordinator position.

Champion comes from the college game “Dan Mullen has always been my guy”, says Champion. The current Florida Gator Head football coach offered Champion a job when Champion was a junior in high school. Now at 22 years of age, Champion has years of college experience and he’s ready again for those Friday night lights.

Evangel will enter district 1-4A this football season and will attempt to win their first district 1-4A championship.
