On your mark, get set, hot dog!

National Hot Dog day is July 18 and to help celebrate, a popular hot dog vender is putting a hot dog eating contest on a bun. The event will take place in downtown Shreveport.

Mickey Davis has been selling hot dogs in downtown Shreveport for twenty years, but this hot dog day will be different than any “The Hot Dog Man” has ever seen.

On July 18, five lucky contestants will compete for a year of FREE hot dogs. The contest is taking place on the corner of Edwards Street and Texas Street at 3pm.

The five people vying for the first ever Mickey’s Hot Dog Eating Contest are:

-Carter Breeze

-Eli Durr

-Jake Wood

-Mark Miller

-Will James

The rules of the contest are easy. Each person will be given three hot dogs from Mickey’s Hot Dog Stand. The person to finish will be crowned champion and receive a year of FREE hot dogs from Mickey’s.
