Micro/Macro: Under the Microscope, Into the Cosmos

  • Joel Rodgers

An event described as ‘out of this world’ is taking place Shreveport.

The 4th annual TEXTILE & ART SHOW will be held Friday, Aprl 20th, 2018 at the Marlene Yu Museum (710 Travis Street). The event is hosted by The Agora Borealis and Marlene Yu Museum.

Organizers hope to leave a lasting impact on all guests as they explore UNDER THE MICROSCOPE, INTO THE COSMOS.

Those participating this year are dedicated to exposing the interconnectedness of the universe, as well as share their dream for a sustainable planet. This year’s show will feature one-of-a-kind clothing designs and accessories by LOCAL DESIGNERS, as well as an ARTIST MARKETPLACE, and GALLERY! We urge you to be a part of this movement that has inspired these creative artists to focus on GROWTH and PRESERVATION, both on a citywide and global scale! Also, 10% of proceeds from art and tickets sales this year will be given to the Rainforest Art Foundation!

Limited VIP and General Admission Tickets are available ONLY at The Agora Borealis (421 Lake Street)! You can also call the store for more information at (318) 268-3011.

Prior to joining our team, Joel spent the previous 5 years as a morning show reporter, entertainment reporter, and sports reporter for a local television station. At 6’5”, he's the tallest reporter in the history of Shreveport, but it’s more than just his height that makes this Shreveport native stand out. After attending and graduating from Evangel Christian Academy, he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from Northwestern State University. Joel is very active in the Shreveport community having won several competitions in recent years. In 2017, he danced his way to victory in the annual Susan G. Komen event, “Dancing for the Cure."
