The undefeated Northwood Falcons (12-0) return home for a matchup with the No. 2 seed Warren Easton Eagles.
The game is Friday at 7pm. Jerry Burton Stadium. Northwood is the No. 7 seed in the LHSAA Class 4A playoff bracket. The Falcons are coming off a second-round 53-15 win against Helen Cox, and first-round 48-12 victory against South Terrebonne. Northwood is outscoring playoff opponents 101-27.
Warren Easton is No. 2 seed in the LHSAA Class 4A playoff bracket. Friday night Warren Easton comes into Blanchard with only 2 losses on the season (John Curtis 38-20, Edna Karr 21-20). Warren Easton recently beat No. 16 Breaux Bridge 45-0, posting their second straight playoff shutout. The next team to score against Warren Easton will bet the first team to score on them these playoffs. They defeated Rayne 44-0, in the first-round.
Warren Easton is located in New Orleans (on Canel Street to be exact). They’d love nothing more than to have a rematch with Edna Karr in the championship on Dec. 8. in the Superdome. But Northwood has other plans.
Northwood’s offense has weapons falling out its pockets with; Trayon Jones Jr., D. Brown, Terrence Cook, Patrick Marshall, and Luke Bogan.
Warren Easton also has weapons. Weapons like quarterback Lance Legendre, a 4-star recruit with offers from pretty much everyone. LeGendre was originally verbally committed to Kansas, but recently reopened his recruitment. LeGendre is a dual-threat quarterback at 6′2″, 205 pounds. 247 Sports ranks him the fifth-best dual-threat QB in the country.
It’s going to be very interesting to see. Easton’s high-tempo attack vs Northwood’s aggressive defense.
