Real Shreveport sits down with two local social media giants
- Joel Rodgers
Dear Shreveport,
Today is Valentine’s Day, and we wanted to get you something special, so we did.
We know how much you love The Crayfish, Reporter Timmy Lane, and crawfish; so why not combine the three for one epic interview?
You deserve an interview with Shreveport’s social media giants; The Crayfish and Timmy Lane, sitting on a picnic table, outside of Shaver’s Catering, talking about life.
Since March 2017; Shreveport has been in stitches over the knee-slapping satirical wit of The Crayfish. You probably saw a Crayfish post before clicking on this link, didn’t you?They’ve got mad reach on social media, and they’re growing.
It all started with “one Crayfish”, Dax LaCray. Now he says “The Crayfish” has crawled to 30 members (although some do not contribute).
Timmy Lane is the hardest working, most trusted news source in Shreveport. When breaking news happens Timmy Lane is the source everyone turns to because he has relationships with his community. He’s always one of the first on scene and he’s very reliable.
He’s Shreveport’s most trusted news source, here’s why;
At 38,000 Facebook followers, Timmy has more than the top anchor at 3, 6, 12, and 33… combined. The second closest to Timmy only has 16k.
Here’s another thing that sets Timmy apart from other reporters, he works for free. Lane is actually a bus driver for Red River Trailways. That’s how he makes money, him being a news reporter is totally freelance.
Interesting note: it was the first time they’ve ever met Face-to-face*.
*Dax LaCray (writer/editor; Crayfish News) request his face not appear on camera, but rather be replaced by a poorly photoshopped crawfish or Leonardo DiCaprio wearing a tuxedo.
