Shreveport Citizens Come Together to Feed the Homeless

Reporter Timmy Lane was present as a group of Shreveport Citizens, a part of an organization called “Bountiful Table” passed out food to the less fortunate in the rain on June 26th. Four tables were set up and stocked with pans of food form a variety of local restaurants who were willing to help out. This organizations has been feeding the less fortunate for about 15 years behind First United Methodist Church in downtown Shreveport every Wednesday at 5 o’clock. They are currently looking for volunteers to help them out with their cause.

In addition to feeding the homeless behind First United Methodist, Bountiful Table also serves food at some youth programs, halfway houses, and veterans’ homes.

Bountiful Table is on Facebook, and if you would like to volunteer to pick up food, serve, or make a donation, you can contact them there or call Michelle at (318)840-7738.
