Shreveport Firefighters Respond to Multiple Vehicles on Fire at a Local Salvage Yard

Shreveport, LA – Shreveport Firefighters responded to the Copart Salvage Yard located at 5235 Greenwood Rd in Shreveport. Upon arrival fire crews found 14-15 vehicles on fire. The call was received at 12:56 am and crews were on scene at 1:03am. Shreveport firefighters called for assistance from Caddo Parish Fire District 3 to bring a water tanker to the scene due to the lack of fire hydrants in the area of the salvage yard.

It took 13 firefighters almost an hour to bring the fire under control. One Shreveport firefighter was taken to the hospital as a precaution after receiving a minor injury. The cause of this fire remains under investigation.
