RUSTON – Autumn Woodard received Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week honors after registering three goals in Louisiana Tech’s opening weekend of league action.
The sophomore took three combined shots in the road conference games against Old Dominion and WKU, and all three found the back of the net to bring her season total to 13 which already ties for the most in a single season in program history.
She struck for two first-half goals at ODU, including the game-winning goal, becoming just the seventh player in program history to notch multiple goals in a C-USA game.
The Orange Park, Florida native turned around on Sunday and forced overtime with an equalizing goal in the 83rd minute.
Woodard has now scored in nine of LA Tech’s 11 matches this season.
She shared the week six award with Marshall’s Marah Abu-Tayeh. It marks the second time this season that the striker has earned this honor.
After playing 10 of their 11 matches on the road, LA Tech will now have a three-game home stand which begins on Friday, Oct. 4 versus Florida Atlantic. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
