Suspect sought in theft of motor vehicle

Per a news release from the Shreveport Police Department:

Shreveport Police investigators are seeking the identity of a suspect who was captured on video stealing a truck from the parking lot of a local business last month.

Back on July 28, 2019, Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to the Valero gas station located at 5112 Monkhouse Drive relative to a stolen vehicle.  As officers arrived at the scene, it was learned a 2018 Chevrolet pickup truck had been stolen while parked in the parking lot. Video surveillance captures a subject approach the vehicle and after a few moments, can been seen entering the truck and driving off.

Police recovered the stolen truck in the 2600 block of Silver Pines Boulevard several hours after it was initially taken. Investigators are currently reviewing video in efforts to identify and apprehend the person responsible for the crime.  Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call Crimestoppers at (318) 673-7373 or visit
