A Tale of Two Tamaccio’s

  • Joel Rodgers

Shreveport is loaded with talent, no doubt.

The local music scene is thriving. One of the local bands that’s making a name for themselves is Star Chamber. A dreamy surf rock band that finished first in the Louisiana Music Prize and claimed the top prize at The Band Wars.

The drummer for Star Chamber is Anthony Tamaccio, and if you look real close, Anthony looks a lot like the local comedian, Tony Tamaccio.

Spoiler Alert: It is the same guy!

And it’s this guy along with a few others that’s bringing the comedy scene back to Shreveport. A fews years ago The Funny Bone shut down, and by doing so, it shut down the comedy scene. Well guess what? It’s back, and boy are my arms tired! Did you laugh? No? I don’t blame you. But you will (laugh) if you attend one of the comedy shows coming up in Shreveport.

You can catch Tony, along with several other local comedians at Comedy Done Well, Vol 3 at The Port Grill July 20th.

The Port Grill’s Facebook event page says, “We’re back at The Port Grill with 4 awesome comics, 1 hilarious host, and some killer food and drinks for another Comedy, Well Done.

There will be 2 for 1 well liquor, house wines, and draft beers, as well as $10 beer buckets.

Bring your friends and check out Shreveport’s funniest at The Port Grill!”

Sounds like fun! Also sounds funny.

Comedy is returning to Shreveport at The Port Grill, Bear’s on Fairfield, and Parish Taceaux. It’s a growing scene and we’ll have much more details as the being available.

If you like local talent, and you enjoy having a laugh, or five, stay tuned. Because more funny is on the way.

Tony Tamaccio is Anthony Tamaccio and apparently it wasn’t even a secret, but if it were, we uncovered it. You’re welcome. Have a great day, kids!
