Tigers one win away from Super Regional

Tigers win 8-4 against Southern Miss

The LSU baseball team advanced to Sunday night’s Baton Rouge Regional title game.

The game is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. CT.

LSU, the No. 1 seed in the regional, will play the winner of Sunday afternoon’s game between No. 2 seed Arizona State and No. 3 seed Southern Miss.

With a win Sunday night, LSU advances to the NCAA Super Regional.

Friday, May 31
Game 1: (3) Southern Miss 15, (2) Arizona State 3
Game 2: (1) LSU 17, (4) Stony Brook 3

Saturday, June 1
Game 3: (2) Arizona State 13, (4) Stony Brook 5
Stony Brook eliminated
Game 4: (1) LSU 8, (3) Southern Miss 4

Sunday, June 2
Game 5: (2) Arizona State vs. (3) Southern Miss, 3 p.m. | Tickets
Game 6: (1) LSU vs. Game 5 winner, 9 p.m.

Monday, June 3
Game 7: Game 6 winner vs. Game 6 loser, if necessary

Joel Rodgers

Joel Rodgers joined RSHV News 1 in January 2018 as a reporter/journalist. Prior to joining our team, Joel spent the previous 5 years as a morning show reporter, entertainment reporter, and sports reporter for a local television station. At 6’5”, he's the tallest reporter in the history of Shreveport, but it’s more than just his height that makes this Shreveport native stand out. His editing skills combined with his love for storytelling makes for a creative and talented addition to the RSHV News 1 team. After attending and graduating from Evangel Christian Academy, he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism from Northwestern State University. Joel is very active in the Shreveport community having won several competitions in recent years. In 2017, he danced his way to victory in the annual Susan G. Komen event, “Dancing for the Cure." He’s also won the “Mudbug Madness” Crawfish eating contest in back-to-back years and was named the top celebrity chef at the “Louisiana Food Prize” cooking competition.
