TWISTED ROOT BURGER COMPANY ANNOUNCES “PITCH-BLACK FRIDAY” EVENT
Local burger joint to highlight breweries from around the world in boozy beer celebration

Shreveport, LA (November 20, 2019) — Twisted Root Burger Company, the locally owned franchise of the Dallas-based better-burger concept, has announced “Pitch-Black Friday”, its annual celebration of dark and boozy beers from around the world. Initially due to the 2010 release date of Goose Island Brewing’s famed “Bourbon County Brand Stout”, Black Friday has become a nationwide celebration of high alcoholic content beers, specifically barrel-aged Imperial Stouts. The Shreveport-Bossier market receives a very limited allocation of Goose Island Bourbon County each year, often leaving customers wanting more of the popular style. Twisted Root Shreveport has responded by collecting popular beers of this style to release together, giving customers many choices to try out, as they endure the busiest shopping day of the year.
The event kicks off at 11am on Friday, November 29. More than twenty different beers will be highlighted, offering customers a wide variety of dark and boozy beers to choose from. Breweries from California, Denmark, England, Estonia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, the Netherlands, New York, Oklahoma, and Texas will be represented at the event, as well as Shreveport’s own Great Raft Brewing. Many of the beers have undergone a very long and complex brewing process, including the use of barrel aging. Customers will be given the option to buy full pint pours, smaller 10oz pours, or as part of a flight. With a flight, customers can create their own custom lineup of 4 different brews (5oz pour each). The various pour options will help customers navigate through the many beers being offered.
“Black Friday is a beer drinker’s national pastime at this point,” said Grant Nuckolls, the owner/franchisee of Twisted Root’s Shreveport location. “The hustle and bustle of holiday shopping can get a little crazy, so we enjoy offering customers a place to unwind and relax. The boozy, dark beers we are offering this year will definitely do the trick!”
