UFC fighter and Shreveport native returns to cage this Saturday at UFC Busan

One of Shreveport’s favorite (and most handsome) sons returns to the cage this Saturday at UFC Busan.
Captain Shreve graduate Matt “Danger” Schnell is an American mixed martial arts fighter from Shreveport. He fights for the UFC and is the former flyweight champion of the Legacy Fighting Alliance. As of October 28, 2019, he is #9 in the UFC flyweight rankings.
Danger fights this Saturday at UFC Fight Night: Edgar vs. The Korean Zombie. The upcoming mixed martial arts event produced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship that is planned to take place on December 21, 2019 at Sajik Arena in Busan, South Korea.
Back in August, Schnell faced Jordan Espinosa at UFC on ESPN 5. He won the fight via a triangle choke submission in the first round. The win also earned Schnell his first Performance of the Night bonus award.
His professional fight record is 14-4. He’s won his last four UFC fights, and looks to make it five in a row come Saturday.
Schnell will face Alexandre Pantoja on December 21, 2019 at UFC on ESPN+ 23.
In 2012, Schnell was one of the young MMA fighters featured in Caged – a MTV reality television series. The show focused on four prospective MMA fighters in small-town Louisiana. Schnell was one of the two fighters on the show to later fight professionally.
