UPDATE: Two People Recovering After Shooting in Grimmett Drive Apartments

Two men are recovering while authorities search for a suspect following a Wednesday evening shooting.

Just after 8:40 p.m. on July 24, 2019, Shreveport Police patrol Officers were called to the Bayou Oaks apartments located in the 2100 block of Grimmett Drive. As officers arrived at the scene, they discovered two men were suffering gunshot wounds. The men, identified as 23 year old Deanton Sheppard and 25 year old Earnest Henson, were taken by ambulance to Ochsner LSU Hospital with injuries considered non life-threatening.

Based on preliminary information gathered at the scene of the crime, it was learned the victims were sitting outside an apartment building when a suspect dressed in a dark clothing approached the group and opened fire. The suspect, described as a black male wearing a dark hooded sweater, fled the scene on foot and was driven away after getting into a silver sedan.
