US Postal Workers Call for No Mail Delivery to Honor Antonio Williams

After the death of US Postal Worker Antonio Williams, his fellow employees have called for a day to honor him and be able to forego their typical duties to attend his funeral and pay their respects to him as a friend and coworker. A campaign has started on social media to show support for letter carriers not delivering mail on June 29th, 2019.

Williams was shot and killed on June 22nd by 32-year-old Michael Gentry on the 1100 block of Dudley Street in Shreveport. He was transferred to Oschner Health Hospital, where he died due to his gunshot wounds. Gentry was taken into custody by the Shreveport Police Department later that day.

In order to support the postal workers being able to attend the funeral of Williams, you can call USPS Complaint at 1-800-275-8777 or stop by the main office located at 2400 Texas Street.
