Each Tuesday Max Preps releases the new Louisiana high school football rankings. Click here to view this weeks’ 5A ranking.

This week in 5A several teams remain the same, but some big changes are on the way. In North Louisiana a huge matchup is set for Friday night as Captain Shreve (5-1, 1-1) travels to Haughton (5-1, 1-1).

Shreve is ranked 15th, and Haughton is ranked 18th. Each team began the year with 4-0 records before both lost in Week 5.  (Captain Shreve fell to Byrd and Haughton lost to Evangel)

Both teams got a ‘W’ in Week 6 and now will lineup against one another Friday night.

Haughton is led by an offense that’s scoring points at will. While Captain Shreve comes into the game with a defense rocking three shutouts this year. Haughton has a good defense. Captain Shreve is explosive on offense.

The game is Friday night in Haughton. Should be a good one. It will be a good one.
